Never having been on the African continent before, our small party of four had no idea what to expect when we organised a tour with Lady Lori, but seeing giraffes flanking the Nairobi Airport as we flew in was enough to know that this trip was going to be like nothing we had ever experienced.

Ian and his new Eurocopter EC130 were waiting for us at the airport. His right hand man, Wilson, was there to take us through immigration and customs with great ease; a must for the weary traveller! We immediately jumped into the chopper and took off for a 10 day trip around Kenya, with stopovers at the most amazing lodges, all of which surpassed our expectations.

During the ten day period, Ian organized absolutely everything for us including all accommodation, food, transport, safaris (both day and night) and sightseeing which just about encompassed the entire topography of Kenya. Everything was amazing and it all went just like clockwork with not a beat missed (apart from Ian dropping his phone in a hotel water feature – though even this didn’t stop our plans, as he had a back up!)

The most surprising thing for me personally was that my inexperience with travel in Africa left me a little anxious – I wanted my first trip there to be special as it was a long way to go from New Zealand and I knew that there would be many pitfalls for the novice or first time African traveller. This is where Ian came in. When I relayed my concerns to him he totally understood, but just said “don’t worry Steve, leave it all to me. I’ll plan your entire trip, you just get to Nairobi.”

Well, my partner and friends had quite possibly the best holiday we have ever had with experiences that will be with us forever. Ian and his team did a fantastic job and I would recommend them to anybody who wants to visit Africa and have an experience of a lifetime.
